The Virginia Rural Health Association has a number of initiatives to address Substance Use Disorders in our rural communities:
- administration of a SAMHSA Partners in Prevention grant on behalf of One Care of Southwest Virginia
- assisting the Appalachian Center for Hope with strategic planning in the Mt. Rogers region
- collaborations with the Virginia Harm Reduction Coalition to increase access to evidence-based comprehensive harm reduction
- training for healthcare providers to increase access to screening and treatment of viral hepatitis
